As a long-time arbiter of understated aesthetics, JJJJound brings its minimalist design language to the iconic Vans Half Cab in the latest in a series of collaborations with OTW by Vans. This edition introduces a first for the silhouette: an unpadded reinterpretation that shifts the shoe from its skate-rooted origins into a more wearable, lifestyle-oriented form. Originally born in 1992 as a skater-led evolution of the Caballero high-top—cut down for better street performance—the Half Cab has long stood as a symbol of skate ingenuity. JJJJound’s version honors that legacy while reimagining the shoe through a quieter, more contemplative lens. Designed as the perfect shoe for retired skaters, padding is removed for a sleeker profile, and Vans’ classic nylon tongue is introduced. Two sets of laces, a custom co-branded footbed, cushioned insole, and iconic Vans waffle outsole for grip grounds the shoe in skate functionality.
